I have come to better understand my needs in a knife at this time in my life... I open lots of boxes, cut open plastic bags, the occasional plastic wrapping and thick cardboard container.... I need a knife with an accessible point to penetrate..but want something not to tactical as I wear slacks and a golf shirt.

I generally dont like items in my pockets, so I am leaning towards something with a clip, although I am entranced by the slip joints of Mr Davidson and Mr Menefee..

The belly curve on my Boker Hyper is not suited well for this..( i really like the knife though)

So a list of Wharncliff knives with good steel would be great.... Lots of boxes I cut open have steel in em and shit happens, the blade will get used...

Ring,That Menefee 3-5/8" swayback jack with a warncliffe blade, could ride nice in one of those W Henry type pocket clip in pocket pouch
Just a thought...His knives will cut all the boxes U can throw at it & stay sharp

If you like your current Boker, why not grab a Boker Wharcom? You can get them for about $30.

check out a Bulldog brand wharncliffe whittler. Mike at Collectorknives.net has a few.

Great thick wharncliffe blade and several handle materials. Classy knife that wont raise too many eyebrows.

Case Sway back Jack can't be beat for the price, and fit and finish are near custom quality.

I've been using my Spydie Tasman Salt, yellow FRN with plain edge for the same purpose. No probem in 1.5 years so far. Wicked tip can rip-into and cut heavy cardboard like the type used on appliances and machinery, and can be resharpened easily on my Edgemaker.

I chose yellow FRN because everybody thinks it's just a tool and doesn't scream "weapon". It hides in plain sight so well that I have some of the office ladies ask me to borrow "that yellow knife" every week or so.
