Looking for a Wharncliff type knife

If you end up choosing a Kershaw Leek, buy 2. The blade will bend or the AO will fail in a year.

Please enlighten me on how this happens under normal use?

To the OP, don't worry about the leek being fragile, people have been EDCing them forever, so obviously they are durable. And the torsion bar is easy to replace, that's no big deal.

I still recommend the Superhawk, or any other hawkbill, because they seem to be the best option for your EDC. But a leek would be a great second EDC knife. (All knife nuts carry at least two knives!)

Regarding the Kershaw "Needs Work", I have and love the knife, but it's not the best for subtle pocket carry in slacks. The grip is somewhat large, irregularly shaped and textured. Thus it is somewhat bulky in the pocket and tends to "print". The clip is stout, and might be more troublesome to draw from the pocket than the Leek.

I have one, definitely too bulky if you are wearing slacks and a golf shirt.

I like the Todd Begg Gents Glimpse's modified Wharny. Here is a picture of mine:

I was blessed enough to get a Benchmade 440 for Father's day, and I must say that the knife is really growing on me. Great size for EDC in dress slacks, very sharp, and very high quality construction.

Thanks Honey!

Don't forget the incredible Klotzli Walker 05: an exquisitely made gem, build as precisely as a Chriss Reeve product. With a decent ATS34 blade, a titanium handle and a well adjusted liner lock. More a very sturdy, usable and rather big gentlemen knife instead of an utility knife:

Or more compact, sturdy and really nice if you can find them: a Klotzli Sailor, with etched stainless steel blade:

(still for sale at Heinnie, I don't know where else, but they are rare now)

Or finally, a Klotzli CHW model, variant "planets" or variant "opal". The handle is titanium again:

That Klotzli Walker is one hell of a good looking knife!! But i wasnt planning on spending $200+

Also the Centofante 4 is also very sharp looking...

While I have $200 to blow.. not sure I wanted to blow it all on a knife....

Some damn fine suggestions people..While I cant afford custom, I sure wish I could...

and then i find this little gem...

The Klotzli Manta Black Stingray....

Wonder what £212.95 converts to US funds????
