Looking for a Whittler?

I've had knives from both Queen and GEC that had some wiggle in the blades but fewer from GEC. My recommendation is an old knife... in particular a 1970s or earlier Case 6380 or an old US made Schrade 804.

Looks good I really like the Case but would take any of them.
I have one from a limited run in stag. You'll have to excuse the scratches and finger prints. This knife gets used.

Here's a photo of the amber bone from the queen website:

That's a nice Queen I am glad to see its not a safe Queen. Lol.

Although the OP has already decided (and chosen well too). I'd like to suggest the GEC 57 Half Whitt for others who may fancy an even slimmer version of the Gepetto model. The Half Whitt is Wharncliffe Master, Pen Minor on a single-spring. Really worthwhile pattern, check it you won't be disappointed.

Thanks, Will

Will, I've been seriously looking at one of those, and I've been wanting one of those Queen whittlers, too. It seems I can never be content with what I already have. :p

Ed, contentment might lead to complacency and even atrophy....:D

Not joking, the Half Whitt is a really good catch, I've got the Pickle Green Bone Tidioute (the Coffee House Acrylic was in the frame too, or Bocote) and I'm delighted with it. Fine F&F. As for the Queen, no doubt about it an authentic pattern, check the D2 ACSB versions, Zebrawood as well.

Come on, you won't regret it. And if you did, there's trades to look forward to, sigh that's near contentment:thumbup::cool:

Thanks, Will
