I am getting ready to sell this Alex J Collins knife but before I do, I'm wondering if I should try to get the blade cleaned/polished. I don't know what the spots are but they don't feel rough like I would expect corrosion to feel like. I know my brother had a custom box for it (knife was stolen and box thrown away) so I'm wondering if it's some kind of transfer from whatever held the knife. There is only one person where I live who sharpens knives and he said he could "probably" clean it up and polish it but what if he messes up the mirror finish? So, should I just sell it as is and let the new owner deal with it? Here are a couple of pictures (sorry about the quality).
