Hey so, i am just about to purchase a semi custom fixed blade in M390.
I have one concern however.
It has handle scales that are non-removeable and the blade is not coated.

I know M390 is very corrosion resistant, but will rust build up under the scales eventually?
Could this become a problem in the long-run because i wont be able to get under the scales to clean it up?
Or am i just over-thinking this?
Any advice is appreciated.

yes. eventually it will rust or stain. yes i think so on over thinking it....

i have old carbon steel knives i salvaged from a leaky shed. been sitting in the humidity of the florida swamp for decades untouched. rusty but not ruined. one of the worst ones had cracked and damaged scales so i took them off and massive rust but not enough to ruin the structural integrity of the tang.

steel rusts. if it stays inside in humidity control and doesnt see corrosive environments i wouldnt worry about it. even if it doesn't i wouldn't worry about it, but that's me.

Knives have been sold forever w/o being stainless and having permanently attache scales. Don't worry...be happy :)
