Hi, I only own one Schrade, an UH old timer 3 blade Stockman my parents gave me back in 1983. Great knife, I still use it. Anyhow, I understand Schrade went OOB, and now there are China made knives out there under the same name? Is this correct? My question; How do I tell the difference between the old and new if by some chance in my travels I run into a small hardware store that has Schrades for sale? I would like to get an older one for my boy (a Toddler), so in a few years he can also have a nice original schrade like I do, cause he is not getting mine till I'm gone...LOL!!!:)

Imperial Schrade made several patterns of Uncle Henry Stockmen. Almost all will have a USA stamp on the master blade. The imported knives will not, and will come in a box marked "Taylor Brands LLC", not Imperial Schrade, or older, Schrade Cutlery, or older still, Schrade Walden. Here is a link to an eBay Taylor Chinese 897UH. Compare it to your knife.

Hi hicomp2, welcome to the Schrade forum. If you have a question about Schrade you will most likely find the answer here, (maybe 2 or 3 answers). :D
