Looking for an assisted opener, Want it to be made in 'Merica.

By now you probably figured out that Kershaw is your best bet for good American made AO knives in your price range. There are several models that you might like, and that are well within your budget: Scallion, Leek, Blur, etc.

My favourite for general everyday use is probably the Blur (the version with S30V blade is worth the extra money).

If I were you I'd maybe rethink the combo edge thing. I own and carry both full serrated and plain edges, but in my opinion, a combo edge doesn't give you enough of either to be very effective. In essence a combo edge is the worst of both worlds.

I ground my serrations out and resharpened everything to a crazy convex edge rather than buy another but I'm thinking of getting that S30V version because nothing feels as perfect in my hand as a Blur. The Leek and Blur are what made me a fan of Kershaw, although there are things I love about Spyderco as well.

How about a Kershaw Shallot? I love mine. :) Its my edc, I never go anywhere without it.

Well now im wavering between the Speed bump with the G10, Shallot, and Blur S30V. but i feel like with the Speed bump being discontinued and Kershaw guy saying hes got like 50 left that i should get that, and i can get the others later if i want, right?

Also, to the guy that has the shallot what edge do you have on it, and is it the coated version?

And i can't seem to like the look of the blurs handle.

Trust me you might not like the look of it but HOLD IT and you'll see. They have them at Wal-Marts and certain brick and mortar stores. Around here we have ACE hardware and they carry a bit more than Wal-Mart. Point is a lot of places carry Kershaw so you get to pick them up and get a feel.

I have the coated strait edge one (1840CKT). I love it. The only complaint I have is that its hard to tighten the pivot.
