Looking for an EDC knife

How has nobody suggested an opinel #8 yet?

Super light, very thin blade and an excellent slicer. Will almost disappear in your pocket. If you want something even slimmer then look at the #8 slimline.

At ~$12 it's a great bargain.

Love em. Love modding the handles. Only, they are kinda fat in the hand without sanding. I would love to see Opinel come out with some truly slim models. People might stop carrying everything else. ;)

The single layer, two-blade, alox Victorinox Secretary weighs only 21.8g which is a whooping 0.77oz, but is a beast at 5.55mm thick. The single blade Sentry is lighter. What's worse is the Secretary costs a WHOLE $15! $20 if you don't shop carefully.

Based on his reference to the skyline, I think he is looking for a single blade folder with a pocket clip. I love my alox collection but I never end up carrying any of them because I like a clip. The one exception is when I wear a suit, I put the alox in the jacket pocket, or when I go somewhere where I can't have a clip showing. But for EDC, clip all the way.

It's so thin that it rides comfortably in the coin compartment of my wallet. And it's the only folder in my collection that I don't rotate. I guess you could call it my back pocket EDC backup blade. :)

Yep. The Eros is VERY light and slim. So, is the Ripple. And they are prettier than the Eros! I have both the bronze and the ultramarine blue. :)

So I'm looking for a new EDC knife, the only requirements are as thin as possible (thinner than a Skyline), as light as possible, and blade length under 3.5 inches. Other than that, go crazy. Thanks in advance!

What do you want/expect to do with it?
Do you want just a blade or do you want tools also?
Do you only want one hand opening or does it matter?

I love my Benchmade 940 Osborne... Comes razor shop out of the box... Sportsman's Warehouse has free replacement screws and clips to save a shipping back to HQ for repairs or cost of shipping etc...

BM 940 is always a good choice. I swap between the 940 and a Spyderco Dragonfly Salt, depending on what im feeling.
