Looking for an "in between sizes" knife.

I've gotten to love the classic Peanut.... and I've also found that I love 3.5" knives..... I want to try something in between and need some ideas.

The stag Otter Andi Gifted me is between and I'm really liking the size. I'm looking for something similar, but maybe a little slimmer than stag. Here's the criteria:

Less than 3.5" closed
More than 3" closed
Single Spear Blade
Bone or Wood Covers
Prefer carbon steel, but might consider a simple to sharpen stainless.

What's out there?

Instead of a single blade, would you consider a single spring? If so, then the GEC Conductor #33 is incredible. It's a smaller package than the number 15, but packs nearly as much cutting-edge. You can get it with a clip main and a sheepfoot secondary, both on the same spring so it's nice and thin.

The Case Swayback Gent is another option. The Gents only comes in stainless steel though, if you want carbon you'd have to go with the two-bladed Swayback Jack.

The single spear really narrows down your choices. You could always find one you really like with two blades then have it modified by Glenn or somebody else. I'm thinking something like the Boker Tree Barlows. Can pick them up relatively cheap then have the exact scales you like put on and have the pen blade removed? I think I picked this one up new in box for around $35.

I like those knives, but I was really looking for a single spear..... kinda like a smaller GEC 15.

The case Bose production tear drop is right on 3 1/2 and a great little knife. This one is the shot show edition but it comes in bone both bareheaded and with bolsters both ends for very reasonable money.

Best regards

Robin

How about a Northwoods Indian River Jack? It's right at 3.5" closed and is very slim and easy to carry also available with bone or wood handles.

I really like those knives. I just wish they didn't come in a super steel. I may get one anyways.

IR Jack is listed at 3-3/4". This is an interesting thread--a really tough combination of criteria.

I've seen the edge that you put on a knife and I have no doubt that you could tame that "super steel".

I was looking at okbohn's video he says it's easy to sharpen.... I'm curious about that. I have diamond stones, but I want something I can easily sharpen on Arkansas stone, coffee mugs, or just a rock I pick up. I don't like stuff I have to break out power tools to sharpen.

The alox SAK "popular" model is in your size range with easy to sharpen steel but they don't make it any more and technically it has two blades even though it's one of the thinnest knives I have. It's also not wood or bone but I know that you like the alox.
This is a hard batch of criteria, I can see why wanted some suggestions.

You don't seem shy of swiss army knives, so what about: Victorinox Bantam. 3.25", single spear, slimmer than stag, with a few 'bonus tools' thrown in and still dirt cheap.

Slimmer still? Victorinox Cadet. (Bonus: world-class F&F)

I like them both quite a bit, but Ensynx's excellent threads have me pondering grabbing a second Vic Bantam and butchering it into a single-spear EO, done in a shadow style. (Still need to think up some way to "capture" the far end of the Bantam's spring after I eliminate the caplifter it normally rides on.)

I love my Case model brown delrin #217. This medium rounded-end three stainless blade is my go-to daily knife. When it dies, I will buy another one.

There is also a red-bone CV-bladed version for a few dollars more.
