Looking for an "in between sizes" knife.

How about a Buck 503? It's stainless and a lockback but it's 3 3/8 I believe with a nice drop point.

It seems to me the obvious answer is to commission a custom knife so you get exactly the pattern you want in the size you desire.

One of my favorite pocketknives is an older Ulster equal end stockman, "cattle knife" style I guess, that is 3-3/8" length. Had and lost a Case equal end medium stockman that was near identical in size and shape to the old Ulster. Very inobtrusive and lightweight, but plenty long enough to hold onto comfortably. I need to get another of the Cases, I miss that little knife.

I'm a big fan of the sub 3.5" serpentine jacks, but for I'd say get that GEC canoe you're after and modify it like that bare head canoe that TLARbb has! Seems like just what you're looking for! I'll take one too while you're at it ;)
