Looking for appropriate screws

I have recently bought Mike Irie’s blade (model 101) and wanted to finish the knife by myself. I have the slabs (or scales) done already but there is a problem. I cannot find appropriate screws for it. I would like to use similar ones as you can find on Boker Specialist (or similar??). Anyway I am looking for 2 sets (screws and nuts) that would be at least 25 mm (1 inch) long with the diameter of 3 mm.

I went to the local shop and they never saw anything like this (I have some spare screws for Boker Specialist but they are too small) and they cannot even order it. I am looking for someone in US (or even in other European country) who would be willing to send me those screws by air mail (I would of course cover the expenses).

I spent many hours working on the knife and I do not want to spoil it using regular screws and nuts.

David,

Go over to the Shop Talk forum and ask around for those specific parts. I don't have a Boker Nealy, so I don't know what kind of screws (pins?) you're looking for. You can also find links to knifemaking supplies here in BFC. Jantz Supply or Les Halpern may carry them.

If you have a lowes in your area, try them. They have a large selection of machine screws and miniature machine screws, along with tap drills and taps to match. And its all dirt cheap compared to the knife supply outfits.
