Looking for best table top mill

I'm looking at getting the G0704. Any opinions?

I got the g0704. It is a great machine will do what you need for knives. I don't like the tilting column because I do have to tram it a lot. I would also upgrade to the dro and get it from pm instead

Thanks Mike. The tilting column is the only thing I don't like about the 0704. How often do you need to tram? Also, who is pm? I'm not familiar with them.

The tilting column is the reason I would recommend the LMS Fixed column version. If space is a concern. CONUS I have an import 3/4 size Bridgeport clone that works very well, but over here I have the mini...works fine for knifemaking, just have to understand the limitations.

Precision Matthews. They offer basically the same benchtop mill as the G0704, but they do a little more fine tuning to them and a couple of minor upgrades IIRC. I think they also used to offer them with slightly larger motors, but I'm not sure that they do any longer.

Thanks Drew, I'm gonna check em out.

Greetings,
The best tool, hands down, was my Syil x4. 90% used as manual. But I prefer to push button then turn.

If you get lucky it is in your budget.
