Knife knewbie looking for some buying advice, hope Im posting in the right spot.
Im looking for both a SOG and a Kershaw knife, both of which have had slight design changes, but seem to sell under the same model number. Im trying to find the older variations, but so far the few dealers who were kind enough to answer my inquiries seem to have only the newer variations in stock, even though still displaying the older images. Does anyone know of a reputable source, preferably from the BF Paid Dealers List, that often carries older stock, or might attempt to find the older variations for me? Looking for new-in-box items.
I am also interested in a number of knives that are available with various combinations of optional scales, colors, blade style/finish, etc., but I often only see one or two basic models in stock at online outlets. Is the only way to get these customizations by ordering directly from the manufacturer at full MSRP? Eyeing up a couple of Tops offerings at the moment.
