looking for flashlight reccomendations

Get the Quark. You can buy alternate bodies for $20 and switch between CR123 x 1, AA x 1 and AA x 2.

The regular and tactical Quarks.....not the minis.

Meaning one can buy a Quark 123 2 like mine and buy other bodies (ie: 123, AA, AA^2) and you can swap them around.

I am pretty sure the minis aren't ones you can get extra bodies for.

Regards.

I'm looking for a work/edc flashlight. Here are the conditions:
-under $80
-uses regular batteries (AA, AAA)
-powerful (>100 lumens) on high
-high and low setting
-don't need strobe or SOS, actually prefer it didn't have it
-very durable
-needs to fit comfortable in bib pocket of overalls (5/8"ish diameter) a little bigger is ok
-would like to have adjustable beam or at least good spot and flood beams at the same time.

I have been looking at the fenix LD20 and LD10. I think that both of these would fit the bill but I was hoping someone else could make other reccomendations. I currently use mag-lites 2AA LED's and pelican recoil 4AA but I know there are better lights out there for my needs. I need to look long distances above ceiling tiles in hallways etc.

LD10 or Quark AA (I prefer the 2AA Tactical) or a Quark MiniAA. Regarding the Quarks, it will be your decision concerning tint (warm, neutral, cool).

Good luck on your search,
Fisk

edit: An added feature on the Quark miniAA is that AAA batteries can also be used:).

thanks again all. I'm currently checking out the 4sevens and other lines and their availability in Canada.

I carry a 4 sevens preon 2 light, runs on 2aaa batteries. low, medium and high mode. 160 lumens max. Nice and slim for pocket carry. I also have a Zebralight sc51 that puts out 200 lumens on one aa battery. Great light, pretty compact as well.
