Looking for good EDC folder

Wow, thanks for all the replies!

I really, really like the look of the Ka-bar Mule - it's super heavy duty and well within my price range - and all that weight would be really useful for the kind of stuff I use my folders for. Would love to hear from people who own a Mule.

Oh - for those who've asked - I've been a farmhand for more than 6 years. I do have a nice fixed blade that I use for the heaviest tasks, but I need a good folder that I can take to farmers market because I can't carry my big ol' Buck 119 there. I use my knives on a daily basis, for everything from skinning assorted large mammals to opening feed sacks and cutting broccoli stalks.

Look at the ontario Rat 1 folder too. You can get it for 25 bucks, smooth action, and solid liner-lock. Kabar K2 knives aren't bad either, but give the rat 1 a serious look, it s the best for the money folder I've ever bought.

A simple lockback like a Delica/Endura will handle dirt pretty well.

The absolutely easiest-to-clean folder I've used is the ZT0500. The mechanism (pivot and lock) is completely sealed and the slab construction is very open allowing for easy rinsing. It's tough as hell, too. I've seen cosmetic blems for as low as $110 (I think).

You would never have to clean the inside of a ZT 0500 MUDD. This is my pick!
