Hey guys, I am getting married in a little under 4 weeks and its coming fast! I want to get my groomsmen knives as gifts but can't think of the perfect one. I like the cryo 2 but its not released yet. I'm looking to spend $40-$50 each for them.
-They need to lock- preferably frame or liner
-blade length 3"-3.5"
Be in budget of $40-$50
Don't need to be engraveable (synthetic handles are fine)

Thanks guys hopefully you can come up with some good ones for me

when it comes to "groomsman gifts" I always think classic, and imo some of the smaller Buck folders would be perfect gifts

Have you given any consideration to a multi-tool. They are manly and handy to have in the glove compartment, etc. They come in many different styles, sizes (from keychain to jumbo), and prices. Any they don't attract negative attention!

I'm liking the leek! I've thought about the tenatious I love mine but I was wondering what other options there were. Any other suggestions? I also need to find a knife to cut the cake with! I'm thinking kabar 7"usmc style knife or a machete. Everyone knows how much I appreciate knives andi think they would get a kick out of me using a non traditional knife to cut the cake. Budget for that is around $80-$100

For a groomsmen gift the two that come to mind are the Kershaw leek and the Buck 55. If you go for the leek contact kershawguy (Dave) he'll give you a good price! As for a cake knife how about an old Collins machete? You could buff the blade to a nice polish...the hole shebang. :D

Funny! I was the best man at my best friends wedding and he gave the all groomsman a Kershaw Shallot. It was a huge hit. Great size for man hands. The Leek was a little small. As for the cake cutting; if your not using a Becker BK-9 you're doing it wrong. :-)

american made buck vantage. is my first thought. good all around user anyone should appreciate for the price point. i'd carry mine more, but it's a tad short for my liking. at only 3.25", i like 'em closer to 4", but that's me.

Kershaw skyline is a great choice I also prefer the size of the spyderco persistence over the tenacious. Boker subcoms are some nice little blades that come in various colors and blades.

Make it rain with Case Mini Trappers! :D

For groomsmen gifts, I'd go for something traditional. GEC's, Case knives, so on. Maybe even a set of Svord's all with the same grain.

Find something decorative from Himalayan Imports to use as a cake cutter. You absolutely cannot get a more interesting knife than an ornate kukri made by the masters.

I would agree with 3migo and go traditional. You could spend the same on each one but get a different pattern for each to make it individual!

IMO, you get a different knife for each one, according to their likes and personality.

Then choose between a flashy modern folder, multitool, traditional folder, or.......axe!

Modern folder: Buck Vantage, gets you USA steel, and great platform.
Multitool: Leatherman Sidekick or Wingman, also Victorinox Trekker
Traditional Folder: Case Stockman, even maybe a Svord Peasant
Axe: Gerber Camp Axe

For the cake: Kabar Heavy Bowie

i know you're asking about knives, but if y'all are drinkers, flasks are good groomsmen gifts too....especially if they are full!

what about some Vik farmers? think those would make some classy gifts and are within your budget. and, they are definitely handy.

Case Mini Copperlock, it's a nice locking classic style knife. It looks classy enough in the office and wouldn't look out of place out on the work site. I think something like this would get a lot of use. The Mini Copperlock has a 2.75in blade, normal size is 3.25in. Making a switch from liner/frame locks to a lockback where you engage it in the middle of the handle took me less than a day to get used to, it's slower to operate one handed while closing the knife but still easily doable.

Congratulations on getting married, I wish you both a long and happy life together.
