I second a Victorinox Farmer. It's a classy gift. Case folders are also tops in the gift department. I gave 4 Case Fisherman knives out as gifts and they were very well received. Same with the Spyderco Delica I gave as a gift. I'd cut the cake with a 12" Tramontina bush machete.

I think they'd be receptive to a smaller Buck lockback of a sort, seems like everyone likes them. I was thinking something along the lines of a 55, or 500 series.
