Hi peeps and almost Merry Christmas! I'm looking for ideas for something different for around 6" fixed blade, as compared to the big names of KaBar, Tops, Cold Steel, etc. I would be wanting to spend about $125 tops, and tactical looking is ok considering I don't own any knives that look like they would be. Thank you very much for your time and have a great night and tomorrow!

Look at Condor Knife & Tool. I'm going to tag @FortyTwoBlades, because he knows more about them than I do.

Oh, yeh. Look at Himalayan Imports. @Steely_Gunz should be able to help you.

Have a look at Kizlyar, maybe?

Kizer and Svord make fixed blades.

Grohmann. I'm just scrolling through the auction site, editing this post as I find names.

So your budget doesn't allow for really high end fixed blades, which is 100% okay. I don't like to use large amounts for users myself.

This Ontario 'hunt plus' camp knife is 420hc (the same steel buck uses) - and the overall ergos are excellent and it's a 6" blade that doesn't look like a kabar or tops knife or cold steel knife ;)

best part is you can find it for under $35 right now

What is the purpose for the knife? Do you care about steel type or handle material? And why no big name companies, just wanting a different look?

exactly. Just would like to go with something different. Lots of great suggestions already. Steel and handle material isn't an issue for me. Anything goes, brother. Dude, it's Christmas in 6 minutes. Merry Christmas, brother

Anza Dune Field. If you want more blade, you could try the Dune Slayer, at almost 8”. The usual street price is $170, but I found both for quite a bit less, $115 and $85 respectively. You want different, these are different.

Sorry, my pics aren’t uploading.

Thanks for the ideas, fellas. I'll check on the knife makers section and look at their knives as well. I hope you all have a great day today w/ whomever you are with, and hope everyone's fams all over this wild place right now are in great spirits.

You can easily find a Blackjack 17-1 for the money your budgeting. Think Randall, but less expensive. Very good knives.

Where are these Easily found for 125?

Buck 119 or 120 in 5160 steel. There are also more in the 5160 steel line that you might like that are more tactical and coated for corrosion resistance. I like Buck knives and find the quality excellent with heat treat and initial edges that the knives come with. 5160 is one of my favorite fixed blade steels.

In older vintage knives still around the Schrade/Walden or just Schrade 165 model in 1095 is an all time underestimate type knife. It feels great, sharpens and performs like 1095 should . It's a great performer and can be found for $60 to 150 depending on condition on ebay. I love them. :)
Edit: Sorry, the model 165's are not going to make 6 inches.
