Looking for info on a damascus knife.

I agree that it looks like a knife blank that some local
probably dressed-up & now calls it a "custom".

Oh, this is the worst-looking knife I ever saw. What, when you buy a knife like this I bet you get a free bowl of soup, huh? Oh, it looks good on you though.

DO NOT BUY

Are we sure that's real damascus? Even if it is, that's no reason to ask that kind of price. Damascus does not equal quality.

Total BS. A custom maker would take pride in their filework, this is slapped together in Pakistan

I got a BS story like that for a damascus fixed blade with ornate file work and what looks like water buffalo horn scales. With a leather sheath, it was only $65! This was 8 years ago. It's pretty, if you don't look too closely, but I haven't used it very much.

I'm kind of embarassed, but it was really inexpensive.

That's what I was afraid of. Think I'll save up and get a montana territory knife. I've been wanting a high quality damascus knife for years now. I don't really need one, who does?

Nevermind.

Does anyone have recommendation for a good damascus knife maker?

Philip Patton was mentioned earlier. Superb work and great to deal with.
