Does anyone know if Andrew Demko is or will be taking knife orders?
I cannot find much information at all.
I would really like one of his custom american lawman knives but if im not able to get one does anyone know of some other great well made pocket knives that are somewhat similar "does not have to have the tri-ad lock"d?
Any help would be much appreciated.

The last I knew he was taking orders and had about a one-year wait time. He doesn't have a website, so the only way to reach him is via email. I left you a Visitor Message with the email address. Good luck!

He told me a couple week ago that his backlog is over a year, so he's not taking orders

Ah, thanks for the more recent info. When I said "the last I knew", I was referring to January, when I was able to place an order with him for a couple customs.

their are dozens of custom knife makers that build top shelf, tough, overbuilt folders. but, andrew makes, in mine and many others opinion, simply the strongest folder out there. even if it was without the awesome tri ad lock, itd still be a beast, but with it? in the total package sense, i would say their is no other folder quite like a demko custom. im so glad i jumped and placed an order before the madness began, ive had mine almost a year and its still my favorite.

out of my many folders, the only one i consider close to it is my grayman satu folder, but it almost makes my demko look small.

I just looked at the grayman folder and it looks appealing. Would you recommend it or should I consider elsewhere for that price tag. I was thinking the lionsteel sr-1, maybe a strider, zt 0300, or possibly a Henderer xm-24. Any other suggestions till I can get a Demko Knife. I dont really collect knives I just lost my edc and want to replace it. I wouldn't mind one really nice durable knife.

I own or have owned all of those (well, I have an XM-18 instead of an XM-24, but you get the idea), and all are extremely durable, extremely well-made knives. My personal favorites are definitely the Striders, but you really can't go wrong with any of them.

I thought I read that Andrew was limited to how many custom knives he could make with the triad lock and sell privately under his current arrangement with Cold Steel.

It would seem that every time someone gets one of his customs and posts pics here on the forum there is somewhat of a feeding frenzy to get one from him.

I'm on his list - I think if all goes well I should get a message from him in early 2012 telling me that mine is ready.

Until then, I picked up a CS American Lawman and Rajah 2 to hold me over.

I've seen one or two pop up on the Exchange - it's rare but worth keeping an eye out for them.

Yes, he can only make 30 a year with the Tri-Ad under his arrangement so they are very limited full blown Customs.

I feel lucky to own 2. :D

Yeah Ankerson, I never understood how you were able to get two out of Andrew in such short time. You must've been quick to order again after your first one! Probably waited with posting your pictures until you placed your second order!!!!! :D:D

Yeah it was the same day I got my 1st one if I remember correctly or very shorly after.

Yeah, I wish I had ordered two right away, but I wanted to check it out first. Now the wait is veeeery long!

I was lucky to get on when I did. I ordered mine in January and I should have it by December or January...Blue/Black G10, Elmax, i hope it looks like Bark River's striped G10.

Toyz is right. Demko doesn't want to handle a wait list longer than 2 years. I agree. If you ask him nicely, he might customize a Cold Steel knife by making a new blade out of some super steel or a Ti backspacer. He is currently making a full length Ti backspacer for my waved and double edged BM630.

When he did mine, he told me he wasn't doing any more reblades, but he may have changed his mind now
