Yes, "How to Make Knives" by Loveless and Barney and "Step by Step Knifemaking" by Boye. There are others, I also found a book on knifemaking by Tim McCreight helpful.

Don't do it oh no its to late, you want to make a knife.
WARNING!!!!
There is no cure for this!
I like the Loveless video and the Loveless Barney book. Just about all of them have good info. I have not seen it yet but there is always a lot of buzz about the Allen Blade video. I got the Loveless video from Centaur forge for 20$. I watch it and see different ideas every time, but it bores the wife to.
death.
good luck and have fun

Heck yea I invented it ...What is it???
I only do what the voices in my wifes head tell me to do.
It's kinda like hangin, you never get used to it.
Hrisoulas first book "The Complete Bladesmith" is great, but rather pricey, at $40+. His video on pattern welding shows the complete construction of a dagger, two tapes, and it's only $20.00.
The following site is information gathered from a pamphlet that Bob Engnath used to put out when Blades n Stuff used to be in business. It's loaded with information, give it a try. http://www.engnath.com/public/manframe.htm
The "wonder of knifemaking" by Wayne
Goddard is great, his emphasis seems to be that you don't have to spend alot of money on equipment to do it (This appeals to me). Also like David Boyes book and the Loveless/Barney book is very helpful also(sorry couldn't think of the titles).
Just remember that you don't need expensive equipment to make knives, power tools just do it faster. I made my first one with handtools and loved every minute of it.

The Loveless and Boye books are a must have. Also for making folders Bob Turzuola's new book is fantastic. You won't get tired of reading and re-reading these 3 books.

I have an excellent video done
by ricky fowler,it is easy to follow add straight to the point. He makes a cape skinner in it from start to finish.
email me at my email address and we can
talk somemore if you like about it.
Allen Blade has a few videos- hollow grinding, flat grinding and kudex sheath making. They are $13 each or all 3 for $45. You don't get all of the steps but in the construction of a knife the grinding is the most difficult (at first anyways) and that is why I LOVE my flat grinding video. You get to see a blank turned into a blade ready for heat treating for $13!!! It sure has helped my grinding out tremendously!
