Looking for knife similar to Gerber Mini Covert

Hi, new guy here.

I have an EDC Gerber Mini Covert that I quite like. It serves me very well and I really like the size of it. I'm interested in finding out if there is anything that is built nicer that is similar in size. I don't really care for the serrations, though. I also would prefer a grippier handle material (I like the G10 on one of my cheap knives, but also canvas micarta).
Anyone know of any?

I would also appreciate any info on what is the best way to sharpen the one I have.

Thanks, fellows!

thanks for the suggestions. the dozier is decent, but i really would prefer to not have a metal handle. i'm not too wild about spear points either. any other ideas?

Take a look at the SOG Pentagon Elite/Spec Elite series, Arc-lock and decent steel, FRN handles though. I can't think of too many knives with the symetrical handle profile, though, of a similar size.

As for sharpening, a Spyderco Sharpmaker is always good.

the symmetrical handle isn't requisite. i'm just looking for something that doesn't take up much space in the pocket (lets me reach for my keys and stuff around it), sits low, and opens easy.

edit: i did a bit of looking around... i like the spyderco paramilitary and the benchmade 812 mini and 710 (which is too long). I'm leaning towards the 812. Does anyone have any experience with this model? Also, what can I do to make the clip sit lower. I'd like it to sit such that the top of the handle is flush with my pocket edge, TDC preferably.
