Howdy, this is my second post and I'm not sure it's in the correct forum so please correct me if you must. I'm in the Dallas/Denton Texas area and I'm looking for some help not making some rudamentary mistakes getting into blade smithing. I'm an actively into PFS/Kali and have always worked with my hands weither it be cars, music, adirdondack furniture building, glass blowing, welding and I've been lurking here for a bit. I think me making knifes is inevitable destination and I have some of the tooling to do it. Is there any knife makers locally that I could watch in action and pick their brains? Just learning to pick up some more knowledge as I'm a sponge, I ate up one of Ed Fowlers books but that's all i've been able to track down locally. Going to pick up some other books and dvd's when the money is available.
