Looking for my “forever knife”.

Just throwing this out there. Large folder doesn’t necessarily mean “overbuilt tactical “. Both of these Case Bose folders are 9” open and gorgeous. Practical, functional and would qualify as a “forever knife” for many people. Discontinued, but available on secondary market. These are hand made, top quality knives in the $500 range.

Well, I've been collecting knives since I was a wee tyke. I haven't found a "forever" knife yet. Every time I think I have, something better comes along. LOL!

I do, however, love my Lone Wolf Harsey Tactical. The big one with the 4.75 blade. It sees a lot of pocket time. Big hands need a big knife.

If I had big hands or liked big folders...

I'd be ALL OVER a Native Chief.

I believe there was a sprint run with upgraded scales and blade steel.
The CF s90v? That’s definitely a gorgeous knife. I hate that I missed the drop, haven’t been quick enough to grab one up on the exchange yet either.

I can’t name them because I don’t think they sponsor BF, but the biggest knife retailer in Canada (based in Vancouver) still has the CF S90V Native Chief FYI….and they ship to the US! ;)

(Just keep in mind the price listed is in CAD)

OOF

That secondary market pricing tho...

If you really intend for it to be a "forever knife", I would also back the Spartan Harsey.

But, it you just want to scratch the itch in this size, the coolest Native Chief or Military you can find will last the rest of your life, most likely.

Also, shout out to the manual Socom Elite. Mine is a very frequent carry due to how light it is for it's size, and the insane action. I use it so much, it has scars.

I’ve been chasing a manual SOCOM for a long time, that looks like an exceptional workhorse, despite how I may feel about the maker. Gotta give credit where credit is due I suppose.

If it makes you feel any better, I really dislike most of my favorite knife designers/company owners. Honestly, most of my favorite brands are designed and run by complete jerks.

Been looking for it for 70+ years. Conclusion - it doesn't exist !
Only a few hundred knives to discover that ;)

Yep, another vote for the SHF. It's a really, really great knife. As @unwisefool said, I just sent mine in to Spartan Blades for engraving and anodizing. They quoted me a ridiculously reasonable price, and a lightning fast turnaround. :)

This is before the engraving and anodization right? You have pictures from after the work was done?

Wow so they offer to turn any blank ti to a past special release? How much did that cost if I may ask?

They'll put basically anything you want on the knife, as long as it's not copyrighted. They said I could send them a image file if I wanted something really custom.

I'm not sure if it's considered deal spotting to say the cost of a service, but if it is, mods can set me straight, lol. All in all, they anodized the scales, clip, thumbstud, standoffs, pivot, all screws, and did the engraving for a grand total of $25 + $15 for insured, return shipping. 😲
