I would really like to have one fixed blade as 70% hunting knife (whitetail), 10% camping, 10% cooking, and 10% carry.

I am not an expert of fixed blades whatsoever, but I like the look, materials, sheath, and construction of the standard CRK Nyala. Is this a decent do-it-all design for what I am looking to do with it? Other suggestions? Usually I just use my dads Buck 119 when hunting but he uses it also so I need to get something of my own.

Being 70% hunting I'd look for a blade with more belly (or 100% belly) and with a handle that doesn't expose your palm and fingers to the tang's edges. I'd also look for a steel more easily sharpened in the field. For the price you are looking at there are any number of excellent handmade knives available that meet your criteria.

I love the Nyala, it just feels good in the hand. But Bark River makes some great knives, and the have a big variety so you are sure to find something that fits you perfectly.

Over the years, I've learned that the looks of a knife doesn't necessarily mean a knife will be functional for a specific use.
Go look at some of the makers here on the forum. You should be able to find what you are looking for and have the opportunity to read how it performs for the tasks you want it to do.

Check out Shadow knives made by Eddie White. Cleanest grinds you'll find, exceptionally nice person and prices that are hard to beat.
