Looking for Opinions on idea

PhilL, you got it real bad for stag aint ya. Unfortunately I've never seen one in real life or held one (same thing i know), so I know not of which you speak.

Elvis, I don't want to think about blood right now, I had a bad experience with one of my tantos last night that left me with 10 stitches. But...if you really want a stag SAK, I'll trade you one for a Harley...lol.
Blades: for the time being I'll just be doing knives for individuals who want something special. If I get the time, I might put something on E Bay, but I prefer to deal with customers requests right now.

I think it would be great to change a common production piece into a 1 of a kind. Something reasonbly priced to call all your own. Thumbs up here.

I'm tired of waiting for Jake to put up his work. Most of you don't know, this guy Jake Evans, doesn't just dress up production knives, he's a talented Knife Maker. He sent me a scan of one of his knives and I don't care if it embarrasses or him or not, I'm posting it!

That's the one that bit ya, isn't it?

Sweet knife! And cool idea, Jake. I'd recommend customizing the knives with BG-42 steel.

So many lower priced knives nowadays are being manufactured with ATS-34 blades that it'd be nice to take it up a notch.

You could put nacho cheese sauce on it...

PHIL!!!Well, I guess it had to be done sooner or later, I just hope the guy I made this for doesn't mind. Yes Phil, this is the knife that gave me 10 stitches, at least it was christened with good O positive blood, I just wish it hadn't been mine. The handle is bocote, the blade is 3/16 440C, 5.5 inches long, a hair over an inch wide with an overall length of 10.5 inches. The wood is finished with Watco Danish oil and hand rubbed.

I think its great Jake, go for it. I myself wished someone was around like you when I started collecting. I could have saved myself a lot of money. So keep on keeping on Jake, and by the way... make me one!

Hey Stab, the kick off date was a lot of years ago..lol..sorry to tell you, but the first of these I made was sold in New Orleans about eleven years ago.

Jake

Jake, do you set up at the gun shows in Springfield and Decatur? I would think I'd have noticed ya by now but maybe not. If you go but don't set up, let me know next time and maybe we could meet up.

Gwinny..I've only been active with knives in this area the last six months. I've been helping my wife with her pet grooming business and just making knives for long time customers in Louisiana and friends. If I ever get enough stock built up I'll hit the local shows.

Jake

Very nice Jake! Nice combination on the knife I am a fan of Tanto blades, Damascus and pretty wood.

Stay Well

.Jake, you got a great idea going here. Your tanto looks really neat also ! I can see a whole trend starting.

An inch wide?!

I'm looking for something similar with a blade about 10 inches and a high carbon steel... as if you didn't know.
