You might like the CRKT M16-10KS (around $35). It's got a partially serrated Tanto style blade with black coating. I got it as a gift or something years ago, before I knew anything about knives. I liked it then and still do. Fun to flip open and easy to close with one hand (or you can make it so by easily adjusting the pivot screw with a standard screwdriver instead of needing a specific size driver bit). It locks really solidly in the open position and has a very sturdy feel because the handle is steel and nicely contoured for comfortable grip. Steel handle usually means annoyingly heavy, but not so in this case because of the milled holes. There's another version with some other material for the handle, but I haven't tried that one.
