Looking for shop set-up pictures

I didn't reply to this thread when it was first posted as I was too ashamed of how dirty my shop was at the time. I layed off of knifemaking this weekend to cleanup and decided to take some pics as it will soon be dirty again and who knows when I'll get in a cleaning mood again:) Moving and having to build a new shop was a big reason why I layed off of knifemaking for a while, that and getting both knees replaced with some good cobalt chrome moly. I am very proud of it and love being in it.

The knife shop is the area behind the windows, the rest is camper and boat storage.

This is what I see at my bench looking out, the dock I built through the ice.

Ah ha trained house monkeys! So that is the secret. Very nice Rick. Even when cluttered by your definition you make my organized days look how shall we say....cluttered. I have as much as I can on wheels. I like to work outside as much as possible. I have 2 8' workbenches on locking casters. One has the grinders and the other has my buffers. My drill press's and bandsaw are stationary. I also have 2 carts that have misc tools and supplies I roll around as needed. I do wish the shop had more flow though and I think that is part of the orignal question. The leather shop side is pretty stationary. I use to do the leather work inside too before moving to the new rancho. YOU WILL BE SO DEAD, get that dye outside! Its gonna happen no matter how careful a guy is. I have an oversized 3 car garage 35'x24' and a concrete pad same size out front. No pics

That picture of your kids cleaning up is the best thing I've seen in a long time - love the expressions on their faces.

I wish my tool shop was half as neat as everyone's here. Good thread, gives me ideas for when I clean up next.

Dang Jim!!! I don't think I've ever seen a knife shop so beautiful on the outside... truly a fantastic building.

Love the clean, organized, brightly lit, and tidy set-up inside as well!!!

Rick--- how she could be so cute, and still have that Marchand snarl is an amazing example of genetics. I.... uh.... um.... mean the snarl part! :p :D The other part must have came from Momma! ;) :D Her assistant is equally cute, but seems a little over enthusiastic--- he must be a robot! :D

Here's my setup Charlie:

That's about the perfect style of shop I'm used to Sam. Don't let Rick and his minions in there to screw it all up with their so-called "organizing".

Lol. Organizing should only happen when you are standing on rubble while working. That's my prefered method.
I appreciate this thread. I'll be moving into my 8'x16' shop next week and am laying ot out in my mind now.

"Don't you do that.
I am warning you right now:

If you touch my drums, I will
stab you in the neck with a knife!"

CLASSIC!!! :D

Thanks Sam, I wanted to, but I held back at first. Since you posted it, I couldn't help but follow up. :D

As far as the OP----

Here is my shop grid that I was talking about. I was dinking around with it the other night, planning the new shop lay-out.

Every grid square = 6" VERY VERY easy to move things around and see what looks like it will work or not. :)

my shop always looks like a small nuclear warhead just went off.... I can clean it and an hour later.... bombed again.

Good thread guys. Keep em, the pics, coming. Nukes, volcanic eruptions and asteroid strikes included. Mine kinda has the stampeded by a herd of wild horses thing going on. I'll see if I can't get em roped in and get some pics took to post.
