Looking for small fixed blade squirrel knife

Buck 102... made in the USA and has a no hassle guarantee for life.

That makes it economical.

Love knives and own quite a few of them, but after many years of squirrel and rabbit hunting, I have found that game shears work much better. I can skin, gut and cut up a squirrel or rabbit with shears in a quarter of the time it takes with a knife, and get a lot less blood and guts on me in the process.

All good choices. In addition to the little A.G. Russells, I also picked up a Queen #73 in d2 steel. I think I'm fixed up pretty well. Might have to give the shears a swirl. I have a set in the kitchen. Maybe she wont notice they're missing(not a chance) lol.

Don't make the women mad , game shears are CHEAP compared to getting on the females bad side! I had Gerbers for a long time but the plastic handles broke off the metal part. I got a Kershaw through Tom Krein's air gun forum and they work really well, and the metal goes all the way through the plastic handle part so they won't break off. Buck makes a similiar pair. I have some from Outdoor Edge too, but I didn't like the blade length and curvature, the Kershaws are much better.

I've used knives quite a bit and my blade length choice would be 3" or less. Longer blades and those wide types with lots of belly near the end work very poorly on squirrels. Among pocketknives, the best results for me came from the second blade on the copperhead pattern (the mini folding hunter type with two equal length 2-3/4" blades). The Case Mini Finn isn't too bad for a tiny fixed blade. AG's Woodswalker looks like a really good choice.

how bout the Schrade Sharp Finger? U can also go to smkw.com, get one of their fixed blade kits and make ur own pretty reasonable...

I'd probably go with the ag russell hunter's scalpel in aus-10 it's lightweight economical(around 20 bucks) and comes from a reputable company . Even though it's made in taiwan ag russell doesn"t put his name on junk.
