1.5-3 inches in length fixed blade, I don't care about steel as long as it isn't horrible no budget but I'm being realistic.

Bark River PSK, Mikro Canadian, Necker, Little Creek. I've got them and carry one daily. I have the necker with me today.

I had this little blade made by Lance Ockenden over in the UK.

Since most of the more popular ones have already been mentioned, I'll just throw Tops out there - they have a ton in that size range, most in 1095 I believe, and the prices aren't bad.

Benchmade Nimravus Cub or Bone Collector 15015-2. Spyderco Moran Upswept is great knife for excellent price. Any of Spyderco Enuff should also work if you want something smaller. Spyderco Streat Beat would be on the top of my list - the price is the only drawback I can see!

The only experience I have with a small fixed blade is with the CRKT Minimalist. Can't complain either.

Becker 14 or 24. Get the scales too.
Or ESEE Izula II. Great little knife.
