I want it to hold up to abuse. One sided, no condors. Under $75. MOLLE sheath with would be awesome. Thanks.

I would suggest the Fiskars 14" hatchet - less than $30, but you would have to come up with a sheath yourself (it does come with a blade protector). Other options include the 15" wetterlings, the Snow & Nealy kindling axe, Estwing hatchet, etc...

3 Choices -

Wetterlings Wildlife (13")
Wetterlings Small Hunters (16")
Wetterlings Large Hunters (19")

I own a large hunters. It has the same head as the small hunters (1.5lbs). Basically it weighs the same, but is more versatile because the longer shaft. Wildlife is 1lbs head, it is barely a "hatchet" in my opinion

If you like the Fiskars, be my guest. Have no experience with the Snow and Nealy. Estwing is pretty lookin with its stacked leather, is a fantastic beater, but lacks the chopping ability of a wetterlings/Gransfors Bruks

Hey Masteroffajitas, what'd you end up getting? How'd it work out and what would you or anyone else recommend in addition to or in support of previously mentioned hatchets.
