Looking for smaller Spydie I can throw in my pocket (sans clip)

I usually carry my Military clipped in my pocket daily (still amazes me how that big thing disappears in the pocket), but I would also like something that is smaller that I can throw in my pocket (with the clip removed) that will still do decent on EDC tasks but kind of dissappear as well. It will be mixed in my pocket with my money clip. I don't really have a "nice" or "gentleman" folder so I thought maybe something that can kill two birds with one stone. Possibly 3 if I can use the knife w/ the clip as my money clip. I have bigger hands too (LR to XL gloves) so too small can be a pain. A buddy has a Mini-grip I tried (I prefer Spyderco's over BM anyday) and that may be about as small as I can go with 1 handed opening.

Ones I've thought about:
Bob T Slipit
Carbon UKPK
Urban
Dragonfly 2 (G10 or FRN?)

Think I'm going to grab a Gail Bradley too when I order :-)

If you've got large hands, I wouldn't personally go with anything smaller than a Sage (1,2, or 3) - they're slightly longer than the Mini-grip, but thin enough without the clip they disappear in the pocket.

I had a Sage 2 that at first I really liked.. then after awhile I realized I wasn't a big fan of the TI handle and lock (wasn't easy ergonomically for me to close one handed). Maybe I'll have to add the Sage I to the list.

The Lum Chinese with the ti or almite handles is a very slim and short knife when folded up. Plus it has a huge blade for the size of the knife. It disappears into your pocket without the clip. Also, the Leafstorm may be good, but I've never owned one.

Would a Kiwi work?

Of what you have listed, I'd go with the CF UKPK. I love the S30V UKPK's action (much more reassuring "lock"up), and it has gorgeous highly polished CF scales. However, be warned that the scales provide no textural grip, and some find it slippery. I personally think the jimping on the choil and thumb ramp, as well as the ergonomics that conform to the hand, make enough grip so that scale material is not a big deal. It certainly fits the bill of a gentlemanly folder.

However, check out the CF Caly 3 as well, if you can have a lock. I personally love both, but the Caly 3 is one of, if not my favorite spyderco knife ever. I think the Urban and D'Fly might be too small from what you said, although my hands are XL glove size, and I love small knives like the Dragonfly G-10, Urban and even the Ladybug. Of those, I'd recommend the Dragonfly G-10 as a more "gentlemanly" option. Overall though, for this type of knife, I think the Caly 3 is the way to go. Sage 1 is excellent in this category as well.

One of the Kopas should work. I think they are discontinued but you can still find them. Or perhaps a Santa Fe Stoneworks Delica for something a little larger. Santa Fe also has a nice version of the Cricket that can work as a money clip.

I also second the Sages. Great knives. I prefer the Sage 2 but the Sage 1 looks nicer.

Out of your list I would go with Bob T Slipit. Great ergos, good steel, best looking CF and of cause you can use it as a money clip. Second choice will be CF UKPK. As much as I like this one, still I love CF finish on Taiwanese knives more.

My favorite knife is the Caly 3 Carbon Fiber in ZDP and would fit your requirements perfectly. But instead of removing the clip, I would leave it on and use it as your money clip. Mine works like that. If you can wait till July I'd get the new Chaparral. It's basically an improved, smaller, Caly 3 with some slight design changes, but massive upgrades.

If you get a model with a finger choil, it'll feel larger in your hand than a knife of the same length without one. For example, the Delica feels too small in my hand, but the Kopa doesn't.

All your choice are excellent knives. Others worth a look would be the Caly 3 and 3.5 and, if you could hold out for a month or two more, the Chaparral.

Another vote for the Terzuola or the Kopa!
Kopa's a nice knife, but Hawk45 said he wanted to remove the clip, and if you do that, it leaves a really ugly depression in the front bolster.

When I have carried the Kopa, I just drop it in my pocket. It is too small to actually use the clip - I never clip any knife to my pocket.
I find that the clip actually helps in handling the knife when opening with one hand.

Personally I don't think there is a Spydie that fits this bill. They are all toooo wide... thin... but wide. Maybe the Kopa, but i dont consider any Spydie other than the "Golden" models. I would recommend a Kershaw... Possibly a Skyline.

The Lum Chinese pretty much disappears when in the pocket. That is my go to when I have to wear a suit every couple of years.

Have one (Skyline that is..) but just can't warm up to it. I use it at my desk as a letter opener.
