I am interested in finding out what would be fair values on some knives. I am simply looking for advice and/or opinions on what people believe to be current fair values on the listed knives. Feel free to give input on the ones which you are comfortable with commenting.

This is not a sale. Moderators, please let me know if this goes against any rules or guidelines of this forum.

Thanks in advance for your time!!

RWH--Those are some beautiful knives.
As a reference point, a ST-56 sold in September for $365. It had been used to cut cardboard, but was in like new condition.
Just recently a Paul's Hatchet with Black crinkle sold for $325. Given the new condition of your ST-56 pair I think the above price would be a good reference point.
As for the protos, given their uniqueness I think the value is simply what the market will bear. Same with the Satin PH and Flyin Mojo.
If I were going to sell them I would price them at a place I was comfortable with and see if anyone is interested in them at that price.
If so, great. If not, you can decide whether you want to reduce the prices.
I haven't seen an MrSLE hit the exchange for a long while, though it is definitely a hot ticket item.

To be honest, my guess is that with this post you will have a PM box full of offers on most of these knive, so you may not have to come up with a price for any of them.:)

Oh man, I hope you are okay. I would be crying like a baby if I had to part with knives like those! Folks get kinda antsy about throwing prices around, here- they don't want to artificially inflate the prices. It's hard to say what these things are worth. The only knife I could venture a guess on the value of would be the custom flying mojo. I would say somewhere around $1100 for that one. It's a beaut!

Given the recent KC prices, I'd bump that up a couple hundred.

I honestly have no idea,

ST56 proto's I am speechless...

Thanks RWH, I just spilled cranberry juice all over my self when I saw the protos,, arrg keyboard all sticky now...

I reckon that Mofo LE would get around $700+. At least that's what I'd shell out for one if I wasn't broke. Hope everything works out for you.

The last Meaner LE I saw for sale on the exchange went for $600. I was second in line and missed it by minutes :(

Thanks for the input from those that have responded so far.

If anyone would rather send their thoughts privately, please feel free to do so. I understand this can be somewhat of a "touchy" subject.

Thanks,
RWH

Lazlo, Thanks for the input. I also found a couple ST-56's that sold for $400 & $425 this year. We'll see if any one else has any ideas.

moonwilson, Thanks for your thoughts. The Mojo is indeed a very nice blade. Sometimes choices in life may prove to be somewhat challenging.

Uncle Jarvis, Your welcome ..... I guess. Hopefully you were in need of a new keyboard anyway.

Nah....I remember that one, it went for half that. You off a little bit there bro. No worries, I've made the same mistake myself a couple of times.:D

Now why don't you go make like an egg and freakingass beat it!!!!

Anyhow, sorry to hear about your troubles RWH. Hope things get better bro, been there myself and selling our Busse is always the brutal part of it. Good luck....oh yeah, I sent you a PM.:)

I would think that there must be some more hogs that would be willing and able to provide some valuable thoughts on these.

Then again, what do I know.

Ok, Don't listen to these crazy people... Each is worth only 50-60 bucks TOPS, but since I'm in a generous mood, I'll give ya $600 for the lot...:eek: :foot: LOL, sorry, just playing wit ya!!

Did you get that Flying Mojo at Blade? This one...

...Was $1197 fresh off the table, BUT... If you did score it there, don't forget about the 6% (pretty sure it was 6%) convention tax/sales tax (whichever it was) which brought it closer to $1270... so $1400+ would probably be its current value.

If I took a stab (no pun intended!) at the others... The Paul's Hatchet, I'd guess $475-$550, the LrMrSLE- $525+, the Mojo LE- $725-$800, The ST-56's- $400+, the proto's?? Not a clue... If the handle of the big one was on the small one, I'd be all over it myself, but these would be one of those "market will bear" type of situations.

These are mainly guesses crossed with past pricing that I remember. I did not factor shipping/PayPal into these. You know how it goes... If you have the luxury of time, list a little high, and bring it down til it goes, if not, you may want to list fairly, but lower. Sorry to hear about your troubles, and here's hoping for better times ahead. Good luck to you, RWH, and I hope this post helps ya at least a little.

The ST-56 protos were sold at Blade '06. That might be a useful data point.

The long one was billed as a BM-e Variant, which is another clue for pricing. Short one looks like a TAC handle, but the low saber grind throws the profile of the donor blade in question.

Looks an awful lot like a BATAC/SJTAC type blank was used on the short one... or is it just me?

Hi Jaxx,

I thought I remembered customs about that size going for around $1100 lately. Honestly though, my real guess as to the value was around $1300, but from watching the exchange, the market seems to be softer for customs than it is for production models now. $1300 will get you a FBM proto these days, and to my mind, a FBM proto is worth more. I was thinking about what the knife would sell for, with relative speed and ease. There aren't too many cats out there just sitting on that kind of money (though there are some, like you, you lucky dog! :D)

And we lucky Atlanta residents have the privilege of paying 8% :eek:sales tax. Not sure what it was at the show, though.
