Looking for Some New Tread

As anyone who runs knows, the most important part of your attire is what goes on your feet. Running shoes are very important, and its time for me to get a new pair. I'm pretty strict with my running shoes, they are solely for running until I buy a new pair and then I'll wear the old pair wherever. My last set of running shoes was Reebock's Zig Nano Fly2. They were great at first, but that was only for a short while. I'm looking for something that will be awesome from the day I buy them until they day they retire. I've had great luck with Under Armour shoes and a few Saucony. I am wondering what you guys like and would recommend. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

the new reebok atv19 looks like a pretty awesome shoe. I wont be running in them but I might get a pair

The asic noosa tri's have been what I've been running in for the past 2 years. I run distance and love them. I normally do not prefer asic because they are heavy and clunky in my standards but the noosa's are prefect. http://www.asicsamerica.com/Shop/Footwear/Running/Mens/GEL-Noosa-Tri™-8/p/0010144983.0431
For runs from 3-5 miles I use the pearl Izumi transitions to strengthen my joints and muscles. Less support but a very comfortable shoe.

Hope that helps! I've also run in the Nike frees and enjoy those also.

No clue. The only way you will ever see me running is if I need to escape a burning building.

Get ASICs kayano series or nimbus series. They are so comfortable. I have shoes from saucony too but ASICs are top notch imo.

Vivo Breath. Only problem with them is you have to completely change how you run.

I've been thinking about trying the Nike Free, they seem to be what a lot of people run with but popularity doesn't always constitute a good shoe. I'm glad there are a few people who would actually recommend them. I'll definitely be checking out the different shoes you all suggest.

Eric, I have to agree with Jason here. An intervention might be necessary for you, but I'm not sure I'd be okay with it. If we intervened in your Puma addiction, I wouldn't be able to get excited about seeing what kind of neon shoes you're wearing when I see you.

Does anyone run trails? If so, do you use trail running shoes? What kind?

I have been wearing Brooks for years. They are the only ones that fit my duck feet (5E) and have that certain something. Decent weight, keep me from pronating, and normally last a season (500+ miles for me) Then they they get "winterized" (tiny machine screws) or put on rain day duty so I don't have to wait for my new ones to dry out.
I use my running shoes on trails (gravel, sand, crushed rock, dirt, woodchips).
If I ran more vertical hiking trails I might look for something different for more ankle support.

Try out a lot of shoes- one will speak to you and it may not be the "cool" shoe.... kinda like knives. :)

I only trail run. On my second pair of Adidas Vigor TR right now. First pair was the original TR, pair now is TR2 and absolutely love them both. Awesome fit and traction. Not sure about the new TR3's but I will definitely be checking them out in the future.

It depends on your feet, if you need wider running shoes then new balance. If you have narrow feet Puma. When I was running 3 miles a day I wore puma's all the time. My daughter currently has to run 3 miles a day for the mil and wears puma's too. I have used Nike free's too and liked them, the fit was better with puma though for me.

I am in need of some new shoes as well, mine have multiple holes and the sole is starting to tear away. I am way too hard on my shoes, let me know what you go with Lora and what you think of them!

I have 5E feet and Brooks Adrenaline fit awesome. I prefer them to NB.

I love the look of pumas but I never though they were very comfortable they feel more like a track cleat than a training shoe. just my two cents. I also haven't run...in a very long time
