Looking for Some New Tread

The side laces are surprisingly more comfortable than top lacing shoes. I do think its going to take some getting used to though.

Those look like nice shoes. Best of luck with them, happy running : )

Have you ran in them yet!? Do they make you go any faster?

I ran in them last night, it is definitely a different feeling. My feet land differently than they did in my old shoes. That's going to take some getting used to.

The sales person didn't have you run barefoot, and then in the shoes to check proper foot strike?

There could be an issue there if the shoe is designed to fix an issue that you don't have. Pronation, pigeon toes, flat feet, etc.

I'm used to having a lot more sole between my foot and the ground, these feel more natural when I'm running than the old ones. I did notice that my knees hurt a lot less with these shoes. I'm not sure how a thinner sole would affect that, but I'm grateful.

Sounds like you found a shoe ! Less knee pain is great, there are a lot of variables to shoes. But sounds like your new shoes are allowing you to land more naturally. That in turn will allow you to have a better gate when you run, transitioning to more of a glide then pounding steps. At least that's my 2 cents for what it's worth. I kill shoes at about 3-4 pair a year, I run like a truck lol.

Your shoes look great  They appear to have the new "barefoot" design sole which is meant to alter how you run and ultimately be more natural and thus comfortable.

Shorter strides and trying to stay on the ball of your foot is the idea ... sort of like track spikes or cross country spikes ... I used to do cross country races as a boy in spikes ... back then we didn't have a lot of choice for "grip" in soled trainers ... I always found that sort of running to feel better ... good luck with your new shoes !
