Hi all. I am hopeful to get some help with a little project. I have a blade that I would like to have someone add scales to. I would also like to get a leather pouch with it. The overall length of the blade 3 5/16" and the cutting edge is 1 1/2". The thickness is 1/8", and the width is 7/8". I have attached a picture of the blade and a picture of the type of scales with mosaic inserts that I would like. I would be okay with other mosaics if I could see them first and if a liner could be added that would match the color. Please let me know who you think would be best to do this as well as what you think the cost and turn around time would be. Thanks for the help.

Do you want micarta as the handle material? Hafting a knife in micarta with mosiac pins would cost you somewhere around $75 including postage back to you. A good leather pouch sheath will run you $35. I am a member of thre knifemakers guild and have done leatherwork for over 50 yrs. email me @ levineknives@msn.com. Bob Levine

The material shown appears to be the jade/neon green G-10 that is popular. The G-10 and those mosaic rivets ( or something very close) are available from Jantz.

I would suggest that you purchase the materials from Jantz, or another supplier, and then get a maker to install and finish them. That way you will know exactly what you will be getting, and the cost will be less. The handle scales sell for $10 and the rivets sell for $35 for a foot ,or $14 for 3". I would guess that a maker will charge you $30 to install them.

BTW, filling out your profile would help with this answer and finding a maker to do the work.
