Looking for something different

Hello everyone. I am looking for a weapon that I don't even know where to start explaining. If you have seen either the movie "Smokin' Aces" or the video game "Assassin's Creed" you will know what I am talking about.

It is basically a forearm-mounted brace that fits up a sleeve. When some trigger or mechanism is accessed, the blade or spike springs forth to the hand. When the switch is used again, the blade or spike returns to its concealed location.

Any ideas? Thanks!

Doesn't seem much different than a switchblade. I don't plan to go around killing people with it. I just like exotic weapons and would like this type of thing for my collection.

But there has to be some way an item like this can be engineered. Something along the lines of a gravity knife to extend the blade coupled with a loose spring to retract it.

Just buy an auto, and play around with it. Then you don't have the added misery of "why the hell did I spend my hard earned money on that junk". Like with my Bud K ninja sword :(.

Sure, but the only people who would want something like that (kids, Mall Ninjas) likely will not have the skill or money needed to do so. If you have the money get it built and then post pics.

Discussion of illegal devices is not what this forum is about.

Go away. Or ask a legitimate question.

Just remember when you engineer this little gem to make sure it does not slice your forearm upon opening.

How would it be illegal if it doesn't have a spring-loaded release? If it works functionally the same as a gravity knife, I don't see where that would be a problem. And by the way, thanks to those of you who like to bash people who ask for input regarding a legitimate topic. Way to be polite.

I have seen a few devices like you want...all were custom 1 off designs and very pricey.

Holdout type devices make a great base to start with what you want. You will have to build your own or come up with around 2k for such a d/a custom device.

I have seen a design that put a bauer 25acp in the hand...and 2 that were very close to what you want.1 was a hollow spike type weapon it was a s/a design and had to be manually unlocked and the other a double edge blade very close to a d/a OTF but on a large scale both used hold out type designs as a base.

BTW...I have a very large collection of some very arcane, twisted and strange weapons .IMO most odd weapons are of very little use in reality ...the type device you want is cool but of very little to no use in the real world.Thats why the Bros jumped ya a bit.

That would be a big problem. Gravity knives are illegal just about everywhere.

Go rent the film taxi driver and that will give you some ideas on how to manufacture the device yourself. Whether this is legal/illegal in your area is your business. :)

Look into some of the OSS improvised stuff. I know I saw what was basically a big ice pick that went the other way, tearing through the jacket so that your back elbow strike would be lethal. Why a spring device, though? Why not a release that would let the knife drop down from gravity? Also keep this in mind, point first = hole in hand under stress. Handle first = blade caught up in sleeve under stress. And don't take the guys giving you grief too seriously, we have all bought or made goofy stuff over the years. I once bought a briefcase (and the weapon) that let you fire a MAC10 through the side without opening the case. RREEAALLLLLYYYY practical, makes mall ninja stuff look like a sound investment. Fortunately a cop buddy of mine LOVED the goofy thing, so I resold it without losing any money.

Hey Guys..

Anything can be made....
I'm sure there are several people here that could easily make somethingl ike this for you...

Problem is..

How much money you got ??

I guess it would work if I just made a release to allow it to slide out with gravity and then pivot my arm to get it back into the locked place. I just thought some sort of spring retraction so it can snap back into the sheath quickly would be more interesting.

stormy, my friend, that contraption has "slit wrist" written all over it, dude.

How 'bout spending the money on a nice custom knife, instead, and save yourself the Emergency Room trip.
