Sounds like the knife that Laurence Olivier had in "Marathon Man." It seemed like an auto in/out knife that was up the sleeve. There are a few scenes where he uses it in the movie.

I suppose one could make their own, ala Travis Bickle...

Go rent the film taxi driver and that will give you some ideas on how to manufacture the device yourself. Whether this is legal/illegal in your area is your business.

That's what I was going to suggest. Check out Taxi Driver, note that Peter Boyle was bald as a cue ball even when he was young, and learn how to make a rail delivery system out of a drawer slide. :thumbup:

maybe you could use some kind of hydraulic ram to extend/retract the blade?
The blade tang also being the piston....
You'd need to wear a power pack tho
