Looking for spacers

I am making some knives, but unfortunately forgot to order spacers when I placed my last order. I would really prefer not to place another order and pay $10 shipping when the item is only $5. Any ideas for material that could be found locally that could substitute as a spacer?

Thanks.

Saturate heavy construction paper with super thin CA and let cure. Works great!

Sorry, cyanoacrylate (Super Glue). You have to use the super thin though, not the standard gel stuff. You can find it at any hobby / model store. Cures fast (3 to 5 minutes maximum). Make sure you sue it in a well ventilated area (fumes are way nasty) and wear rubber gloves. The chemical reaction during curing will produce a good amount of heat also, so wear some rubber / latex gloves. Just hold a corner of the paper, squeeze out liberally from the center of page out.

Thanks for the clarification!
