looking for sq. tubing

check the yellow pages under scrap/salvage. they usuall got lots of that stuff.

I would suggest looking at scrap steel yards, sometimes they have different shapes of scrap metals, which one could be a square, who knows. If you can't find any, I would then suggest getting 2" angle iron and having it welded to be a square. I don't know if that's even possible, I'm just throwing it out there.

the new stuff is cheap too if you go a steel supplier.... i find my local supplier is very reasonable and dont mind us little guys with little orders..... i just wish they carried blade steel!

well, here's the deal, i talked to a guy who was gonna sell me an 11' foot piece for like $93......way to much for what i want it for, ill hold out at that price till i can hit a scrap yard.

and the price he wanted was what the local steel co. charged him.

Check with the local steel company and see if they have any drops. Also, look for local welding/fab shops, they will usually sell drops cheap...Check machine shops too...

the other thing is i dont drive for a bit, and it's a pain to say hey "will ya drive me to these 5 scrap yards so i can scavange around all day".....that will teach me to pay that damn speeding ticket

I just checked Fastenall near me and was quoted $168.00 for 12 ft. Too rich for me and Sacramento only has a small scrap yard.
