looking for steels, coatings, and knife anat

I seem to be looking in the wrong sections in the archives.

Trying to find the following:
1] Classic work on steels, composition, and relative merits of each.
2] List of most popular coatings, and relative merits.
3] Knife anatomy.

Any ideas what sections these would be in? Archives?

1)
a) Read Joe Talmadge's Steel FAQ sticky at the top of this forum. It has been reprinted on a couple of knife websites.
b) Cliff Stamp has collected a lot of info and has it on his own server:

I don't always take Cliff's stuff word-for-word, but there is a lot of good stuff there.

2) If you find one, let me know. I've not seen one. Tried to start a thread once about it and got no responses. You might try collecting the data from individual threads. The search engine here is a bit funky. Try this:
Click search.
on the popup, click advanced search
Enter the single word "coating" with no quotes. (the search function here seems to use an OR operator instead of an AND operator. More words widens the search, then the engine overloads and you get zip.)
Select "titles only"
Select "toolshed forum"

3) http://www.agrussell.com/index.html Go to the knife encyclopedia. Lots of info.
