Looking for suggestions for a new pocket knife, possibly a benchmade mini striker?

I'm looking for a new pocket knife. I saw a picture of a benchmand mini striker that I really liked.

I want something like the striker but I wonder if its looks might be a bit aggressive for a daily use knife. Any suggestions?

what is the difference between a plain and a combination blade?

I think you would be extremely happy with either the full sized or mini stryker. The looks are not too aggresive for everyday use. I am actually waiting for my new BM910SBTCG to arrive. I have used a BM975SBT for a long time now, and it was perfect. Didnt make me look like I was going to kill anyone

and got the job done.

I prefer a full sized stryker, just because I have a hard time getting a good grip on the mini, but both would be great knives for you.

Let us know what you get, and your opinions.

All the knives in the world go round and round, round and round, round and round...DAMN, one of them took my wallet !!! :)

Didn't see that last question.....

The combination blade just gives you a section of serrations at the base of the blade. If you were to make a post "which one is better" on this forum it would take you a year to read the responses. Once again, I personally won't carry a blade that is not partially serrated, they come in handy too many times.

Just to give you another option, you might want to look at the Darkstar Series(BM880 & BM885). Slightly more elegant look, but again, great performance.

I have almost a dozen BM...and the Mini-Stryker is a fav. Good all day, everyday carry knife! You'll love it, I promise...just no black, it will scratch!

What Dangelo said. Great knife and much prefer it to the large for everyday carry. Go with the satin finished plain edge for sure.

It's only a mistake if you fail to learn from it!

Don't know about the mini-Stryker, but the full size is a very good knife. Mine has seen a lot of use, and held up very well.

In my opinion the the 910 Stryker is one of the best knives on the market. I own and carry a 9100SBT(Auto-Stryker) every day and It is a combination edge, almost all my knives are combo edges, because the serrations come in handy A LOT! The only other knife that I carry over the Stryker is an Emerson Raven (E1-B) but the double bevel blade grind on the Stryker is a little more accurate while cutting certain objects. It is a GREAT knife, and DEFINITELY worth the money! For the price it is one of the best knives out there!

ANY Benchmade is a GREAT choice!

I recommend the Benchmade 720 Axis Lock. It is a very versatile knife with a great locking mechanism, decent handle shape, and a good blade with some belly for cutting.

My idea of a pocketknife for everyday carry is a bit more traditional. I recommend "ordinary" pocketknives such a a stockman, pen, congress, Barlow, etc. From manufacturers such as Schrade, Case, Camillus, Colonial, Imperial, etc.

I personally carry a Schrade Old Timer Middleman Stockman. Sometimes a Case XXX Barlow.

I do. But I consider many of the new style folders rather than pocketknives - especially if they have only one blade. Nothing wrong with either one. I guess another way I look at it is that just because you can get a knife in your pocket, does not necessarily mean it is a pocketknife.

Rick, why not carry both an 'old-style' pocket knife and a 'new-style' one too?
