Looking for Suggestions!

Hello everyone, I am not new to knives but have run into quite the issue... I have recently gotten into higher end knives such as CRK and RHK knives and have found that I love flippers and the ease of sharpening a choil as it allows for more even sharpening. So here is the issue, I have a bit of extra money to spend and am looking at a new blade. I do not have enough for the brands that I listed, and am going to wait on buying another of those for a bit. Now for qualities...

I would prefer a flipper that requires little to no wrist, an easy to use non flipper frame lock would be good as well
$100-200 range, two $100 knives or 1 $200 knife, it doesn't matter.
3-3.50" Range
Would be used for light EDC such as opening boxes, cutting tape, string, and the occasional box or two. No wood or metal.
Thin-ish grind to allow for good slicing
Choil or a good plunge line that doesn't have the handle in the way for ease of sharpening.
Blade steel isn't too much of an issue as long as it is from a reputable company, I am okay with it!

For those wondering, I have already tried the southard, domino, ZT56X, Manix 2, PM2 and Sage series, so not really looking for any suggestions from those.

Really looking forward to the suggestions!

The only issue with that suggestion is that the New ZT line is nearly impossible to find at price or from dealers at the moment.

The only other things I can think of off hand that you haven't already mentioned are the BM 300 and the A G Russell small Dozier tab lock. The Domino would have been my first choice.

Love the suggestions! Keep em coming please!

Dale, do you have any experience with the 300? I originally wanted the 300-1 but thought it would be too thick/bulky for a good light EDC. And I heard the action requires a lot of wrist.

How about a boker kwaiken, or a boker federal. I don't actually own a kwaiken yet but it is on my list and I hear it flips pretty good. The federal does flip good but can take a little practice.

Boker's kwaiken flipper is on the lower side of your budget. It has vg-10 steel with Ti handles and ikbs pivot.

Zt 0808
Still available at some dealers, and already popping up in the Exchange.

How about a CRKT Fossil, or a Kershaw Rake? Both are nice knives, not pricy, and fairly good quality.

That composite blade looks trippy!

Question for those that suggested the Kwaiken, I have read that the blade can slice you while closed because the tip is slightly exposed or not recessed enough... any truth to this?

Choil? check. Significant plunge? check. Just under 4" blade if you include the choil, no wrist action at all and it has a completely sealed bearing system. Its a carson Tech labs Boiling. You gotta import it but its well worth it. Its $20 over your price range but that is with shipping so its not bad.

Good suggestion Purp, but I am looking for something that will be here say next weekish if I order today! That is definitely going on my long term list though!

yeah this took two weeks. You can spring for expedited shipping but its for sure gonna add to the cost. Its a great knife though.

Hmmm. I am going to have to weigh a lot of options before deciding on anything. You guys really know how to make it a tough decision!

Like I said I don't actually own a kwaiken yet, but it is one of my next purchases. so I don't know much about the tip problem.

I'd also agree the zt 0808 would be a good choice. 3.25" blade so it falls right into the size you want. It is at the upper end of your budget but I don't think you'll be disappointed.
