Guys, I am looking for a new EDC. I have been looking at getting a military, scorpius, or one of the newer enduras. I want somthing that isnt too heavy, but will perform well for most anything. Nothing too thick (print much in the pocket, etc.). And something that isnt too heavy (but yet is somwewhat substantial).

Thanks,
Sincerely
John

It sounds to me as if the Delica or the Endura would suit very nicely, depending upon the size of the blade that you want. The ZDP-189 blades are especially nice for fine detail slicing work.

For something a bit dressier, I carry the Volpe or the Viele II, depending upon whether I am going into Washington, DC, with its 3" blade limit. The Volpe is too long but the Viele is not and both are quite handsome as well as being very well made.

Pick one of these and never look back...
You'll be a happy man!:)

Pacific Salt
Military
Endura 3
Endura 4

Good luck,
Allen

Thanks Guys I appreciate it. I use to carry an avalanche for a few years, then my benchmade 710, then a dominator for a while, then my swamp rat, rat trap. But I want something new, different. Something that wont turn too many eyes, if I happen to be at church, etc. But still big enough to be very useful.

Military.

It is quite possibly the finest folding knife ever designed. From an overall standpoint: materials, advanced and continuously evolving engineering, ergonomics and even price the Military may have no equal.

For a knife as a pure cutting-instrument, and "folding knife" as portable-version thereof, Sal's flagship (my opinion) design is it.

Specific discussion welcome. I always love to talk about my Mils. :D

Thanks!

I did handle one fo the mini manix yetserday, it felt pretty good, not too thick, but hefty for cutting. The only complaint I had was I would like the blade a little longer.

How does the thickness of the military handle compare with the mini manix?
