Looking for the best large EDC folder

This is one big looker I saw last week. I will get the dimensions tomorrow but I'm guessing it's 10 inches total.About a 5 inch blade. It has pearl looking acrylic slabs which don't look nearly as good in the pic. It's about $300. Custom made by Gene Anderson. You will notice it has no nail nick. It's so smooth you don't need it and it has a crisp snap in the lockup position.

In the $450 range I'd recommend a custom by Matt Cucchiara (Pontiaker here on the forums). You can also get a large woody Sebenza for that price. I always recommend DMKnives (David Mosier) but his knives tend to be Strider AR sized. Can't beat the quality for the price though.

OK, here's the specs on the pic above. ATS 34 blade of 5.5 inches. Overall length 12 inches. Nickel silver bolsters. She is a beauty and a bargain.

This will probably be an unpopular answer, but what about the CS large voyager or the X2...strong, cheap, big...

nothing wrong with CS voyagers....i have 5" tanto full serrated...great for self defense and have a sak in pocket for utility chores

Thanks for all the suggestions. Those of you that suggested the Spyderco Military did me a great service because I had forgotten that I have a S30V Military in my tackle box. I guess I should fish more. I'm strongly considering the Hinderer Firetac, Martin Trooper and a large Sebenza. I'll keep you posted.

Ok I know this is an old thread and you probably already bought your knife but I was suprized no one mentioned the Benchmade 630 Skirmish. I have one and dayyyyummm it's sweet. Set me back about 150.

Haven't spent the rest on beer or hookers but bought a mighty nice box of cigars. :)

In the production knives the Camillus MAXX, and Aftermath are great, along with the 630 from Benchmade. In the custom world............the choice is yours!!

I had real good luck with my SOG PEII for over four years. Sturdy, well made, feels good, long blade and strong lock. The blade is AUS 8 and fairly easy to sharpen and holds an edge fairly well under "every days stuff" use. They are running around $100.00 these days I think.
