Im looking for a much higher end made in usa version of this http://www.agrussell.com/a.-g.-russell-featherlite-clip-point-blade-with-aus-8-steel/p/K-93B/

I'd like the handle to be as straight as possible, no angled ones please

no steel liners
im looking for it to be as sharp as i can get, as it will be used to cut some pretty thick vines.

must have a very durable locking mechanism
may have a spydie hole but it has to be like the one i described in the link
i would like it to hold an edge

must be made in the usa

Handle cant be too thick

The knife you want is the benchmade 530

at 1.8 ounces, its scary light. I have one and was going to write it up in reference to ultralight hiking. a great lil knife. I also have one half serrated if you want to buy it from me.

So "must have an oval hole? If your looking fo a lightweight knife spyderco would certainly be a great place to start! but no oval holes, just the actual "spydie" holes I think.

I think the older BM pikas had ovular holes and frn handles ....

it doesn't match many of your requirements, but I'm going to suggest you take a look anyways, just in case you haven't seen them already: Opinels. Very light, with comfy handles. The steel is about equal to SAK steel in edge holding, but it's carbon. Not exactly high-end stuff, but great for keeping around as backups or as nice light pocket blades.

Most of these suggestions aren't USA.
I think Spyderco may be your best bet.
If it's primarily for vines, get full-serrated.
Plant juice is corrosive, get a Salt.
Really strong, the Saver Salt -- but I don't know that it's made in USA. :(

One of my all time favorites. The Gerber LST Magnum Jr. (1.4 oz.)

Available with thumb hole but only with serated blade.

I have my mind set on the benchmade 530, but once i get the money i will also buy a spyderco salt,
still taking suggestions though as i am buying a few

let me describe exactly what i will be doing with this

may be used in camping for cutting some water melon or peeling an apple, will be used to cut tree roots, thick vines, and whittling a few tent pegs, hiking, will also be used for feather sticks.

mainly it just needs to be very sharp, hold an edge, very light weight and no angled handles(i find others to be less versatile), no steel liners, and made in usa

Kershaw E.T comes in at 3.7 ounces...but have no idea how that compares to most folders. I love mine and have edc it everyday since I got it.

Kind of a parallel to the one you already posted, in terms of steel and manufacturing country. but damn light, and pretty tough. I would take one of these over the al mars, which coincidentally also uses the same steel, and are also made in china (I think?). They're also 3 times the price and not as tough.

I recently bought a Spyderco Native SC41 PBK with a CPM S30V blade and I'm extremely impressed with it.

Light, strong, rock solid lock, shaving sharp edge, secure, non-slip grip and a Clip too.

I have no doubt that this knife would be up to the task you describe, whilst lighter knives may be available, you'd want to be sure that light weight didn't compromise durability and reliability.
