Looking for the right Buck knife

"Ideally a pocket clip would be great too, but it is not a deal breaker."

Since Mark said that, I thought immediatly of the smaller 503's or 525's. Most of the ones with a pocket clip are a little too tactical looking for office use IMO.

I have a 2008 build out that has a Bucklite handle with a 110 blade.
I bought it at the Buck factory last year for$10.00 + tax it is very lightweigt and usable.
Should have bought more of them!

Here's a few I dug out along with a 110 to give them some scale. I thnk any of them would make a nice office carry knive and wouldn't be intimidating to anyone. Some are easily found and all stll show up on Ebay. They are all locking although the Koji isn't a lockback.

I agree with the Buck 525 lockback series.

Search eBay,, usually it has 10-15 for sale at all times.

I had a 525 with jiged brown bone that was very neat for an office knife.

A thin leather pouch or the poor mans sheath made with paper 3 x 5 card stock and scotch tape will protect it from keys etc.

Thanks again, folks. Pumblerdv, thanks for the picture - that helps a lot in getting a feel for the sizes. The picture also reminded me that I did have a Koji at one time, but sold it. It was just too bulky for it's size, although it was a beautifully crafted knife. I'm still gravitating towards the 525, but we'll see what I finally come up with...

BTW, I have to say that you folks in the Buck forum have to be some of the most helpful and friendly BF members around. Very nice!

Best way for you is to just pick up one each from 501 or 055 down and figure out which one works the best for you after you get them!:D

Yeah, I'll be sure and run that idea past my wife, the household finance manager. LOL
