Looking forward to the return of the big knives.

Love me some big blades, and always looks forward to seeing some on the DOD, I just fell into, UM I mean picked up a GCB from someone around here, will have to post some pics when I get a min, maybe a group shot of some of his family members as well.

Bawanna, you KNOW we would never blow you up...

without first making certain the blades are safe!

Seriously keep on pressing back, don't let the press get ya.

You really wouldnt want to fall into one of them Pugs, That'd be a mess;)

That's a 25" Sirupati by Tirtha. It's very very special as Auntie handed it to me personally when I visited her summer before last.
I'd been wanting one but I was still relatively realistic back then. I didn't want anything that was too big or cumbersome so I was holding off.
I remembered this when I got to her house so I asked if she happened to have one I could hold.
She was well stocked at the time and brought it out in a jiffy. Gave it to me as a gift, refused payment..............what a lady.
And then the show and tell began.......................beyond words.

Ndog/Shavru. I was just holding that single fuller Chitlangi yesterday, it's a sweet sweet blade. I'd be very very hard pressed to part with that one. You of course will the first I call if the time comes. I am pretty close to being very hard pressed.
If you do go with the explosives idea, do advise so I can put it someplace safe along with the rest. Don't want to damage the goods when you blow me up. Don't much care about myself but don't mess up the knives.
I spent another day yesterday swinging the KLVUK, cut a swath I did. I'll try to snap some photo's when if my body decides it's ok to move again. Think I'm in worse shape than I thought, but I'm still wiry.

Love my single fuller Chitlangi too....22" of fun.

My favorite Khukuri now.

I have one of them too:cool: They are very nice blades! One of my favs as well and soooo beautiful.

The geometry and extreme sharpness leave me with the impression that it could do some serious cutting.

I think I'm going to get set up with some tameshigiri mats and stands to do some cutting with my swords and if I do I think some of my "short swordesque" Khukuris might see some cutting as well. My single fuller chitlangi would be one of the first up, I'm interested to see how well it does especially vs my 21" double fuller chitlangi and my 20" and 25" Sirupates.

Please bear in mind that Kami's was only one of the issues at the forge. From what I can tell from the newspaper. The political and electical issues still are going to be problems. Hopefully having such great Kamis back will help for a lot. But there will still be a need for patience as they are still basically operating under a hostile environment from what I can tell.

Don't mean to be impatient but WE'RE WAITING.............

Well it's close to 5 here with the time zone and all I might as well just sit here and wait..................................

Guess I better ponder a house warming gift too while I'm waiting huh?

Wow just Wow! I'm experiencing a shortness of breath and sudden sweating profusely.

And my britches seem to have shrunk.

I held versions of both of those during my infamous visit to Reno. Clear as a bell I recall they were both profound experiences. Ponder the carving it took on that handle. No small task and so very well done. That top one is a Talwar is it not. Just a guess but I gotta know ya know so I get it properly wrote down on the list, page 56 on legal size paper small print. It's a long list and seems to get longer everyday.

I better go get a damp towel for my head. Maybe lie down for a bit, it was a long night but well worth waiting for.

Holy wokamole! I know how big that CGB is and that thing above it is givin me chicken skin! Talwar? I had no idea they were that chunky! Wow! Yes that took some carving! Thats really nice Pugs! Bawanna you still got 44 pages on that pad left! Can i borrow a few sheets? And we felt bad cause Pugs dont have a Katana yet! or do ya?

I recall a picture of Pala holding one of those Talwars. It was an awesome picture too.

Pugs is full of surprises, he just might have a katana on the sly. Plenty slippery this Pugs fella me thinks.

It's a Manjushri Sword. There haven't been many of those in recent years. Maybe now that Sher is back, we'll see more.

Here are a couple of Tarwars. Not as fancy as the Manjushri, and only single-edged, but very strong and utilitarian.

They're both 29" overall length. The top one is a hefty 41oz. The bottom one is a whopping 59oz, with a very thick spine.

Aww correctomundo. I remember those now. I was close but no cigar. Hope I've sold a kidney or something before one pops up. I have no idea why I need one but I've always maintained that WANT creates a need.

I guess I too look forward to the return of the big stuff.

A double edged Rajkumar! Would love to have seen him temper that one! Hmmm? Kidney..Wow. Man your full of good ideas Bawanna! What else've I got two of?
