Looking into buying my first sebenza !! please advise

In reading your post if seems as though you want the plain handle Sebenza but are looking at the micarta for scratch protection in your pocket.

Even with micarta the knife will be marked over time by other things in your pocket.

I am an advocate of slipcases/pouches for carrying fine knives in ones pocket. A Seb should come with a Reeves slipcase. Knives Ship Free (KSF) offers a number of quality slipcases a bit better better in quality, durability and fit than the slipcase that will come with the knife.

Were I you I would buy the Ti Seb and just carry it in a good slipcase. As I have posted a few times before in this forum, not only will a good slipcase protect the knife (better than adding a couple strips of micarta to the handle) it actually makes the knife more comfortable to carry and virtually eliminates the the "lump" or knife profile in your pocket.

In my experience a good slipcase does NOT add noticeable bulk or weight to pocket carry as one may think.

The Micarta is the only inlay model that they re-blast.
The knife will look as new again, just as a refurbished plain model will.

The other inlay models can't be reblasted.

As I said above, the Micarta models can be re-blasted too.
And I've never seen the Micarta on one dinged up or scatched. They will darken from hand oils, but most of that can be taken out with a degreaser.
I have one Micarta that has been carried a good bit since 2005. The Ti has many marks, but the micarta doesn't have one mark, ding, or scratch.

This. I've bead blasted mine and it looks just like it came from the factory.
