So I have a scallion and love it. Very handy and a good all around knife.
SO know I'm looking to buy another maybe a little more fancy folder.
I'm either going to get a Chive or a Leek Black and Gold..(wish they had made a Scallion that way...:(:()

I was wondering if you guys think a Leek is to big for a gentlmens type knife.
I know the chive would be fine and so would a scallion (see above about scallion..;)
You know how some people look when you pull out even a small knife to open a letter or...etc.

Just looking for input.

thanks

I think you would love the Leek. Very slim and low profile.
The black and gold one is very attractive. I say go for it!!
You know you're going to,so ....go ahead and pull the trigger. ;)

I really wonder why they never mad a scallion Black and gold or even a all black one with the polished Tungsten coating??

So you really don't think its a aliiiittle to big??
I'm a fraid the chive might be to small...

If I'm not mistaken, It seems like Kershaw did make a
run of all black Scallions. I could be wrong but I think
they did. Let me see if I can get a side by side shot
of a Chive and Leek together for ya here pretty quick.

The Leek is very slim and light. You'll have to check your pockets
on occasion to see if It's still there. ;)

Here ya go.......

thanks for the Pic's
Have a pic of a leek next to a scallion?
Scallion is what I have now.

You know what I mean when I say people get a little weired when you pull out a knife for something?

Only Scallion I had, I gave away to a relative.
It would fit pretty much right between the two.
The Chive has a 1-5/16 inch blade, the Scallion
has a 2-1/4 inch blade. The Leek has a 3 inch blade.

Sorry I can't get ya a pic up. Maybe someone else
can come along and post one.

Oh, welcome to the forums .........and the addiction. ;)

lol....Can't really say I do. Most of the guys I work with,
after handeling one of my kershaws have ran out and got
there own. :D

The standard Leek makes an excellent Gentleman's Knife, IMHO. Nice and thin, the blade is only three inches long. I suppose it's all in what you're used to. I EDC the JYC II and the speed-bump most often, though I wouldn't consider them "gentleman's knives." The Leek is definitely more "sheeple-friendly," especially if you ease the blade open in your palm.

I agree with riffraff. It's hard to beat the Leek for a great all-around Gentlemen's EDC. I rotate my EDC's out every few days, and I always have trouble rotating the Leek out; it's a great tool. Good luck.

I think I'm leaning toward the leek.
I have the scalion if I need something smaller.
No need to by an even smaller chive for EDC.

Sooooooooooo what leak should I get??

Lets see some leaks...:):)

thanks

Buy three, so you can make one of these... :D

The three donor knives used to assemble it were, the 1660TGRYST (blade), 1660T1G10 (G-10 scale and steel liner), and 1660CKTST (black tungsten DLC coated frame-lock).
